Tadeo Jones is back, and this time he’s embarking on the most ambitious adventure of his career. The most internationally recognized character in Spanish animation returns to theaters on August 26 with *TADEO JONES AND THE MAGICAL LAMP*, directed by Enrique Gato, and today the film unveils its final trailer and poster.
This fourth installment expands the saga’s universe with new characters, new settings, and an exciting journey through time that will lead Tadeo and his inseparable companions to face their greatest adventure yet.
One of the major new developments in the film is that Tadeo and Sara have started a family and are now the parents of Olimpia (Oli), a fearless two-year-old girl whose arrival will turn everyone’s lives upside down. The one who isn’t taking this change so well is Momia, who is used to being the center of attention in the group.
The film also introduces new voices to the Tadeo Jones universe. Actress Petra Martínez plays the genie of the magic lamp, while Carlos Latre lends his voice to several characters, including Jeff and Belzoni, who—thanks to the lamp’s powers—will be able to communicate with humans for the first time.
Joining them are Óscar Barberán as Tadeo Jones, Michelle Jenner as Sara, Luis Posada as Momia, and Ana Esther Alborg as Ramona.
“TADEO JONES AND THE MAGICAL LAMP” reunites some of the saga’s key creative minds: Enrique Gato as director, Manuel Burque and Josep Gatell as screenwriters, and Zacarías M. de la Riva as composer.
The film follows the extraordinary success of the three previous installments, which have drawn more than 8 million viewers and grossed over 47 million euros in Spain. Distributed internationally by Paramount Pictures, the franchise has reached audiences across five continents and has grossed more than $120 million at the global box office, making it one of the most successful Spanish film franchises of all time.
Synopsis
Tadeo and Sara are now the parents of Olimpia (Oli), an adorable and intrepid two-year-old girl. And Momia isn’t taking it well at all that he’s no longer the center of attention. While on vacation in London, Sara tracks down a unique object: the magical lamp from *One Thousand and One Nights*. And Momia, consumed by jealousy, makes a wish: to travel back in time to when he was young and everyone loved him. Tadeo and Sara must join forces to prevent Momia from changing the course of history and bring the group—including Jeff, Belzoni, and Ramona—back home. This new adventure will take them across the Atlantic Ocean from the mythical lost city of Paititi to Greece, and from there to the heart of the Middle East, all the way to the very cave of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.
The film is a production of Telecinco Cinema, Lightbox Animation Studios, Ikiru Films, Anangu Grup, and Tadeo Films AIE, in partnership with Mediaset España, Movistar Plus+, and Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group, with funding from the ICAA and support from the ICEC.
‘TADEO JONES AND THE MAGICAL LAMP’ will premiere in theaters on August 26 and will be distributed by Paramount Pictures Spain, as with the previous installments.
