“5 MINUTOS MÁS,” an original Movistar Plus film produced by El Terrat and Ikiru Films, written by Berto Romero, and starring Javier Cámara, Berto Romero himself, and Belén Cuesta, and directed by Javier Ruiz Caldera, will premiere in the Official Selection in competition at the 74th San Sebastián International Film Festival.
The producers of ‘5 MINUTOS MÁS’ are Berto Romero, Bernat Elías, Javier Méndez, Edmon Roch, and Movistar Plus.
‘5 MINUTOS MÁS’ marks Berto Romero’s first film screenplay; he also stars in the film alongside Javier Cámara and Belén Cuesta. The film marks a new creative collaboration between Romero and Ruiz Caldera, following their work together on the series “Mira lo que has hecho” (Ondas Award for Best Comedy Series) and “El otro lado”—both also produced by Movistar Plus in collaboration with El Terrat.

Recognized as one of the most versatile directors of his generation, Javier Ruiz Caldera has built a filmography that combines a daring mix of genres with a sense of humor that defines his personal cinematic vision. ‘5 MINUTOS MÁS’ marks a new collaboration with Berto Romero, one of his regular collaborators, whom he has directed in the series ‘El otro lado’ and ‘Mira lo que has hecho,’ as well as in films such as ‘Anacleto: agente secreto,’ ‘Tres bodas de más,’ and ‘Wolfgang.’
“5 MORE MINUTES” tells the story of a married couple in crisis who decide to spend a weekend on a rural getaway at an isolated house in the countryside. There, they meet with a representative from the agency who shows them around the house and hands them the keys. But before he leaves them alone, something extraordinary happens: time rewinds 5 minutes.
Rounding out the cast are Carlos Bernardino (“Mano de hierro”), Marc Soler (“UPA Next”), Clàudia Melo (“En los márgenes”), Puchi Lagarde (“Galgos”), Tian Tosas (“La última noche en Tremor”), and Nia Tosas (“El mal invisible”).
‘5 MINUTOS MÁS’ will hit theaters on January 22, 2027, and will be distributed in Spain by Filmax.
